The Shaking of Abigail Kay

July 29, 2008 by marshall · Leave a Comment

The news is flooded with reports of how the greater LA area was “rocked” by an earthquake. Oh the news these days. They’re really searching aren’t they?

It was a 5.8. Not small but not big either. For those of us who experienced it, it was more of a fun ride than anything else.

Here’s Heidi reporting on the scene in Laguna Niguel, CA about 20 miles from the epicenter:

-Hi Sean. Yes it’s true. Our reports are confirming a 5.8 earthquake. It was quite an experience here at the house. When the earthquake started I reached for Abby. And then I remembered I needed to grab Adri. So I put Abby down to grab Adri. Abby was watching me and got freaked out because I was getting freaked out. The quake lasted a solid 7 or 8 seconds at least. It was long. The whole time Abby kept saying, “Whoa. Whoa.” Quite an experience! Earthquakes are a little different for me now that I have kids but still fun. Back to you Sean -

Thank you for the report Heidi! So there you have it ladies and gentlemen. An eyewitness account from a mother of two little girls.

That’s the news for now.
